Perfect for participants who are on their first foray into the hills or are looking to gently ease back into the peaks. This is a relatively gentle route that sweeps around Grasmere and incorporates a peak. With all day to cover 11k this is a fantastic first taste of the fells and is the perfect route for everyone to take part in. View the kit list
Q. How fit do I need to be to undertake this route?
A. This is our entry event. You don’t need to be super fit to take part or an experienced hiker but you’re still undertaking a few hours in the hills. Make sure you’ve warmed up your legs before the event with some walks closer to home, particularly with a bag on your back. Time pressure is very low on this route, so enjoy your time in some lovely scenery, with great views over the lake in Grasmere.
