Status Update

We are in the final week of the #CumbriaChallenge2026, and as part of my hiking practice, I managed to complete the following:
A peak near Great Hetha, Hethpool (Newcastle)
Yorkshire peaks (Pen‑y‑ghent and Ingleborough)
All of these walks were challenging at times, especially with steep ascents and occasional rocky sections. However, maintaining a steady pace made the experience enjoyable. The ever‑changing scenery and the fresh, cold air at these peaks made it a refreshing and rewarding outing, leaving me feeling re‑energized by the end of the day.
I’m taking on this challenge to raise funds for a meaningful cause—supporting the Walking With The Wounded Charity. Every penny and pound raised goes to support veterans and their families to get them back on their feet and moving forward once more.
With less than five days to go, if anyone would like to contribute, donations—big or small—are very welcome.

Status Update

As part of my hiking practice for #CumbriaChallenge2026 I managed to complete 2 Yorkshire Peaks

Week 1 - Pen-y-ghent
Week 2 - Ingleborough

The walk was challenging at times, especially with the steep ascent and rocky sections, but taking a measured pace made the experience enjoyable and manageable. The changing scenery, fresh air, and sense of achievement at the peak made it a truly refreshing and rewarding outing, leaving me feeling re-energized by the end of the day.

Pen-y-ghent, the smallest but steepest of the three peaks, is known for its distinctive lion-shaped profile. The scramble is the most technical section of the route. Ingleborough, by contrast, is a distinctive flat-topped featuring the remains of an Iron Age hill fort and is often the final peak tackled, typically when legs are tiring.
