Sitting on cold tarmac just before Christmas 2023 I wasn't aware my life was about to change drastically. I had managed to break my hip playing football with my son and faced an uphill battle of recovery, crutches, intense and painful physiotherapy to regain my ability to walk without a permanent limp or pain. Without the unwavering physical and mental support of my amazing family, friends and colleagues and the skills of numerous health care professionals I couldn't have imagined then being able to participate in this Challenge, so this is for all of them - and in support of others who may find themselves similarly incapacitated (whether temporary or permanent) for any reason! Not everyone is lucky enough to have a support network in these circumstances.
