I have decided to take up the Walking with the Wounded challenge (WTWW) in the beautiful Lake District this May, to show support and raise money for service veterans. It's with a little trepidation that I take on the tougher 28km route after suffering from a slipped disk earlier this year following a hike in Dec 25' up ‘that hill’ in Africa. However, given recent improvements in my mobility, I am hoping that the camaraderie of my fellow teammates and rivalry with other teams will spur us all on to greater things.
Having a Father who served in the RAF and having worked with a large number of both current and ex-servicemen over a significant part of my career, I know both first and second hand, some of the challenges they can face both during and after leaving the forces. This is my chance to give back to them for their service, their endeavour and their friendship.
If you are able to help me raise some funds, no matter how small, then pls follow the donation link. It will be greatly appreciated both by me and those who would ultimately benefit from such a worthy cause.
Very worthwhile charity and a great team building exercise
